I’ve just started to setup my wordpress blog, and just when I thought it was all ready and went to post, i couldn’t get it to work!

When I click the ‘write’ tab it loads properly, but comes up with an ‘Error on Page’ message at the bottom. All of the fields seem to work except the ‘post’ field, which appears a lighter color and will not allow me to click the cursor inside. I’m using IE 7.0

    Am I missing someting?

    Thanks,

    Evan

Telling us the error that you’re receiving might help.

I am having the same problem in my home PC. In my work laptop I can use the visual editor without problems, however at my home PC it doesn’t let me click on the post field. I have Inet Explorer 7 installed in both machines, with.
The error at the botton only says “Error on page”.
I think it might be something being blocked by IE7, I just can’t figure out what is it.
If I unclick the “Use the visual editor when writing” I can write posts.
    I am using WP 2.1.

    “Error on page”

That’s a javscript error warning – standard for IE. Makes sense that if you turn off the VRE that you can post – the VRE is javascript-based.

The VRE is “TinyMCE” an outsourced script. If you have some kind of developer tool (or even just turn on the javascript warning in your IE) it’ll tell you where the script error is in a little popup window.

In the meantime – use a better browser. Like Firefox. ??

If using FF2 I have a problem in the visual editor when I try to upload a picture or add a link. It pops up a blank window, I can’t close the popup. If I use IE7 I can’t use the visual editor at all (I get “error in page”, JS error).
I went trough other forums and tried everything that was recommended. It is still not working.
I have tested in two different PCs and two different BLOGs.
    Appreciate any new suggestions.

Any updates on this? I see a lot of people are having these same problems.
