Brand new site, fully updated, same server as many other sites. Installed WF, tried to Optimize but for the first time ever, after downloading the htaccess_Backup the Continue button doesn’t work.

  • Thanks for reaching out.

I watched the video (very helpful, by the way but you need to attach it as a link, not using the code to embed it in a post as www.remarpro.com doesn’t allow that) and it looks like you only clicked the button to download .htaccess. You need to also download the .user.ini file before you can click continue.
Please note : If you start the optimization process over you’ll need to redownload the two files again before clicking continue.
Can you try it again and let me know the results?

Perfect, thanx! FWIW I’ve installed WF dozens of times and only ever dl’d .htaccess, even on the same server.

It should require you to download both. If there isn’t a .user.ini present it wouldn’t require you to download it. I can’t think of another reason why it wouldn’t.
