Can't open WP in a browser next day after successful installation

  • I installed WordPress yesterday using BitNami and everything went fine and it worked on my iMac running 10.6.5. I shut down my computer and went to lunch. Came back and when I tried navigating to WP using https://localhost/wordpress, Chrome nor FF could not find it. I tried using the direct IP from the readme.txt file; no good.

    I installed WP in a directory separate from applications. So I thought that might be the problem. (WP also crashed my entire system a little later on.) So I uninstalled WP, restarted my system and re-installed WP into the applications folder. At that point, everything was working fine. Worked late into the night. Finally shut down my system and went to bed. This morning, same problem as yesterday after booting up my computer: Browser is unable to locate localhost/wordpress.

    Has anyone else had this problem?

    Also, I’m sure this is a common problem, especially with noobs like me. So where’s the search function that searches the forum only here on WP.org?
