• Wait, is this by design?

Makes no sense that I can’t drag files into uploads/ given this an actual folder, with media in it, also – shows as empty.

Also also, seems it’s screwed up most of my attachments. Welp.

    What’s going on here/Help?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    reelism,

Pervious I have reviewed the drag and drop code related to the uploads folder and could not find a reason why drag and drop does not work as the code and all the proper HTML elements are present. You can upload files directly to the Uploads folder but it is not possible to move files from another folder to Uploads.

What is the other issue you are having?

Also, if there are files in Uploads folder that are not appearing, try using the Sync function to add them to the media library.

Wait, what? This makes zero sense, this is expected behaviour – files are moved to uploads/ , this is why I installed.

If your plugin doesn’t do this you need a whopping disclaimer before and after install.
As it is I’ve installed for a function you don’t offer, and is entirely reasonable to expect, and by moving my files I’ve broken MANY attachments and half my site is missing content. Something is very wrong here in both concept and function.

As we have 9,000+ users, most find that moving files does work correctly on their sites. However, every site has a different server configuration along different themes and plugins that could interfere with the working of Media Library Folders.

I would not recommend putting all your files in a single folder such as the Uploads folders. We have heard from a number of users who before installing Media Library Folders had uploaded many thousands of files into a single folder and now regret doing that as it reduces the performance of their site.

If you have backup of your site, you can restore that to get back the missing files.

Alan, I don’t know where to start.

    Just no.

I’ve given you a well deserved 1 star.

    Sorry, but sheesh dude.
    Sheesh.

    Hi Reelism

I am one of the 9000+ users Alan mentioned.
This plugin is the best plugin to handle large amounts of files in different folders!
If you want to move images to the default \uploads folders, why do you install this plugin?
Also you need to consider that you are probably using a plugin to create your pages with.
Normally if you move files with Media Library Folders it updates the links in your pages!
Reading your comnents give me the impression that one of your installed plugins is causing your issues.
    Regards,
    Peter

U just stated the reasons why I would install this plugin.

I have used Elementor for some pages, not most. It’s broken most, Inc my nav.

I was not moving many files, I wqs moving a handful. I thought, as you’ve stated, it would update attachments. Instead it broke things.

Well in stead of just giving negative statements, yould better give usefull information. With this information Alan can investigate your problem, and resolve it as he normally does!
I had some issues with moving files as well. After investigating we found the reason for the problems. And with this information Alan applied a fix, and my problems where solved.
So please indicate the steps you performed when it went wrong.
    Regards,
    Peter
