• Hi!

I’m trying to add a banner directly below the header of my blog posts and I can’t seem to figure out how to choose the location.

I am not using a Themify theme. I’m using the Themify Builder plugin with a Genesis framework theme.

My test banner initially showed up after the post content.

I tried the back end settings as follows: Click on the purple dot (row) > Styling > Display above content. I’m not sure if this is even the right place, but it’s the only thing I can find that shows any kind of placement. Also, I don’t know what a frame is in this context, and it’s set to [top-presets-none].

I also found a “placeholder” in the edit area of my content. If I click the placeholder, an edit icon shows, but when I click it, it seems to be saving and then takes me to the front end editor. Since the edit button does not work, I tried moving the code manually. The placeholder is at the bottom (end) of my text. When I move it to the top, the banner does show before the content, but it still is not in the right place (it was below the title and social share buttons instead of above it).

So I tried copying the “placeholder” code into the header scripts. Now I am making some progress because the banner is in the right location, but displays all wrong. The text is cut off, the image is not centered, the background does not display, and there is a ton of space between the bottom of the banner and the post title. Note that I am using a Themify template for testing (although I will create my own once I figure it all out).

The way the post sits right now, is with the banner in two places. It’s at the top where I want it (in the header scripts) but all mis-configured with no background, and it is also after the content displaying correctly.

My question is, how can I (easily) move the banner around. If there is no easy way, then how do I get it to display properly?

You can see it here (https://scottsmoneymachines.com/hello-to-all-of-you-this-is-my-first-post/).

Thank you. I appreciate any help you can offer.

    Hi,

Is this banner image static or dynamic? Does it appear on every single post? Themify Builder can only work within the post loop. If you are displaying content outside the loop, you would need to create it as Layout Part: https://themify.me/docs/builder#layout-parts. We are not familiar with Genesis framework, perhaps they have hook locations where you can display content using hooks/filters. If you switch to a Themify theme, you can use the builtin Hook Content (https://themify.me/docs/hook-content) to insert content in the theme without coding.

I believe the banner image is dynamic… the background moves at a different speed than the scroll. I did not create it, I just used a template as I learn to use it.

It’s only on one post… again, as I test and learn.

I will look into the layout parts and see if I can solve it from there (thank you for that). Themify themes look great with awesome functionality, but I did not know about Themify when I built the site. Perhaps switching or using Themify for another site will be a good future choice – as I said, I like what I see!

I will modify this thread after I check out layout parts.

    Thanks!
    Scott
