Can’t make new pages

  • Hello Again,

    Hoping you guys can give us some good advice like you have in the past.

    Attempting to make new pages on a WP2.0 blog and keep getting a 404-notfound page. Previously worked fine. Tried on various templates – no go. Can make posts without problems, and can edit previously written pages, just can’t make new pages.

    Then tried on a different subdomain and it worked just fine.

    It’s only one one domain, regardless of theme being used.

    No change in admin or user, no problem with any of the other WP blogs.

    Solved. I upgraded to 2.01
    Then my .htaccess had the wrong permissions.

    Hmmm…okay. But why just from one blog and not from any of the others?

    Still cannot make a new page on this one particular blog. Everything else is working as above.

    Anyone else?

    Just for clarification: are you able to create the Page and when you want to see it you get 404? That’s usually related to .htaccess file not being writable.

    Or, are you getting 404 in the admin panel when clicking on the “create new page” button?

    Hi,

    I can make new pages, but cannot access them – that is when I get the 404.

    I can edit previously made pages and I can view them without problems.

    If it is an .htaccess file problem, why would it change?
