Cant logon to my WordPress dashboard

Hello!
I have a site that I could not access yesterday. After talking with support at Free Hostia (who said it was nothing on their end) i was finally able to access the page again. However, I can not login to my dashboard to change or upload content. It says my password is not correct. then when i try to do a password recovery i get this message

The email could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.

I am unsure how to fix this. I did not change my password. I have contacted free hostia but have heard nothing. This is my school page and I need to access it for grad school! Freaking out!
