Can’t Login to my wordpress admin dashboard

I’ve had this happen to me on occasion. The redirect URL passed to the login page gets corrupted for some reason. Despite getting the login screen again, you are actually logged in and manually typing in the site’s /wp-admin/ URL into your browser’s address field will get you into the back end.

YMMV, but this has worked for me. I hope it works for you as well.

Yeah. I also tried that, it works for me sometimes but not all of the time. Do you happen to know what caused this issue? Thank you for responding

There is something about the URL passed as the “redirect_to” parameter that gets you into an infinite login loop. If typing in the /wp-admin/ URL does not work, manually type in the wp-login.php URL to get rid of the redirect_to parameter. Try to login again. One, the other, or both should eventually get you in.

I don’t know what the problem is with the redirect_to parameter or how it comes to be corrupted. It could be some quirk of my server setup in my case, I have a slightly unusual installation. It might also be due to one of your plugins, IDK.

But did you fixed the issue regarding to your scenario? or the infinite login loop still exist from your side? I encountered the loop again today.

No, still happens on occasion. I can’t be sure now, but I think this has happened on other WP sites I’ve logged into as well. It may not be a quirk of just our two sites. Until I know how to reliably induce the situation, it’s going to be difficult to track down the root cause.

Because one of the two solutions I’ve offered had always worked for me, this is more of an annoyance than some bug that must be fixed. Clearing browser cache and/or WP cookies might help as a work around. Obviously clearing cookies will force you to log in again, but doing so when there is also no redirect_to parameter should work reliably.
