• I updated the DNS of my domain not realizing it played such an integral role in accessing my site. With that being said, I’m looking for access to my WordPress site.

I used hover to buy my domain and use Siteground to host my site. I ended up creating a Shopify website so I linked my domain to that website instead. It did not occur to me that I wouldn’t be able to login to my WordPress site after redirecting the domain to my new Shopify site.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I’d change it back if I wanted to keep my WordPress running then create a subdomain like shop dot nootroblend dot com to point to my store on Shopify.

I’m not sure how I’d be able to change it back? I don’t know my original DNS settings for my WordPress site. I didn’t save the original settings.

Hi @petertheocharis , You can get your wordpress site’s IP address from the siteground and then in your DNS settings add that IP address in A Record. So your domain will again point to your wordpress site.

You can easily find the IP address in Siteground or you can also ask siteground support for that.

Let me know if you need any more help on this.

    Thanks.

@thakkarhardik Ok I proceeded to change the IP address in hover, from siteground. How long does it take for the changes to take effect? Currently if I type in my URL it still points to shopify.

@petertheocharis , While changing the DNS record, you might have seen the field called TTL which states approximate time to change the DNS record. However, it will usually take 1-2 hours and in worst case 24 hours to change the records. Meanwhile you can check it by entering your website’s URL to https://www.whatsmydns.net/ site. It will display where your domain is currently pointing to.

Let me know if you still have any questions.
