• after upgraded to 2.6, i can’t see the login page when i come to myblog.com/wp-admin. it turns blank. then i go to myblog.com/wp-login.php and i can see the login page. but after i log in, blank page again.

in fact i always have problems everytime after i upgrade. each time when i go to my main page, i’ll either see a blank page or get confusing codes (my blog is not english, using UTF-8 to view). so everytime i have to edit ep-config file, to remove the “utf-8” fr the line “define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf-8’)” before i can see my blog’s content again.

so this time after upgrade i see nothing. then i do the same thing to the wp-config, it works and i can see my blog’s content again, and yet this time the login page turns blank and i can’t login.

    desparately need someone to help.

    oh i solved it…

i just delete the spaces at the end of the wp-config and i can see hte admin login page again. don’t know why, but somehow it works…

I had the exact same issue… and used the above solution.

And it worked for me as well.

hey, got the same problem here.
a blank page after I tried to login.

even erasing the spaces at the end of wp-config, the problem still there.

    anyone can help, plz?

    please, anyone can help me?
    the problem persists!

I am having the same problem (get a blank page) after upgrading to 2.6. Removing a space at the end of wp-config file did not help. And using myblog.com/wp-login.php gets me a blank page also. Bummer.

I find this may occurred when you have Alex King’s Popularity Contest plugin active, try to delete this plugin.

    Same problem here!

I disabled all plugins before I did the upgrade (from 2.5 to 2.6). the database upgraded fine, but any attempt to get to the admin section results in a white page with no source code at all.

Login.php comes up, but then I get a blank screen again once I put my username and password in.

I tried re-uploading all of the wp-admin files in case something didn’t transfer right, but no luck so far.

Making sure there were no spaces at the end of wp-config.php didn’t solve it for me.

    Still awaiting a solution. ??

No longer waiting… I’m blaming the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin. I removed that and things started working. Had to clear cookies, rebuild permalinks, activate necessary plugins, etc… but I’m back baby!

I had/have the same problem as spackletoe.

spackletoe, do I need to remove the WAU plugin ? And then what esle did you do?

I did use WAU to upgrade…

    Thank you!

    OK:

    not get’n it here:

Don’t exactly understand what is being said here about the spaces ?

Anyone Care to comment further ?

I am also having the same problem: – but using English –
    and have no resolve ..

Have looked through numerous postings .. and still can not make heads or tails of this …

    Thanks in advance !

I ran in to this same problem when I upgraded to 2.6.1 today and decided to migrate my wp-config settings into the new wp-config-sample.php and rename it to wp-config.php since I haven’t done that in forever and there were some new settings that I didn’t have.

It broke my entire blog. More specifically, the line:
    define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);

broke everything. After removing it things ran fine. I run MySQL 5.0.18 and PHP 5.2.4.

Would someone be available to walk me trough these changes? I believe I did all changes to wp-config.php described above but still get a blank page. I can’t even login to Dashboard.

I have the same problem. I can’t login to my dashboard. My login page stay blank…some one can help me?

I don’t get a blank page but I can’t log in to my blog, please help:
