• Ever since I updated 4.4.1 I’ve been having trouble. Jetpack doesn’t work and won’t reload and I can only use the html coding for blog posts. But just now I’m now totally unable to reach my site period. I’m not a techie so I’ve no idea what to do.

    Then I went to my website home address and it doesn’t even come up so maybe the whole website is lost? No clue. Very frustrated at how unuser friendly WordPress is.

    Any suggestions?

    – Try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.
    Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong.

    Hahahaha! I understood about a quarter of what you just said. And no I don’t have my site backed up because I don’t know how to. I tried that a while back and worried I would ruin something.

    I can’t even go into my admin site or update anything or log in. It’s like the whole site was wiped out from the 4.4.1 automatic update.

    Do you recommend someone to hire who might know how to help me? Maybe they can figure out how to log in.

    try one of these sites:

    https://jobs.wordpress.net/

    or

    https://directory.codepoet.com/

    It would probably be best if you talk to the support team of your hosting company. They probably know about this WP bug and they should know what to do.

    Try disabling ModSecurity in CPANEL. Some says that you have to disable rules #214620 & #214940 in ModSecurity, if you can’t do it in CPANEL, you have to check with your host.

    Ever since I updated 4.4.1 I can’t login to my dashboard. I can’t login to my Cpanel neither. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    @robert Cuadros,

    If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. That way you stand a good chance of getting full attention to your specific issue. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.
