can’t login as admin and possibly no administrator role

  • Can’t login as admin. I made no changes recently. In ithemes sync it looks like the admin user has no role and the administrator role is not in the drop down. The wp_options wp_user_roles looks the same as a week ago when I had no issues. The administrator role looks alright there.
    Any ideas?! Everything else seems to work on the site. It’s a WooCommerce site and orders are coming in. The users with the shop_manager role works fine.

  • If you have made no changes to users and roles – did you install any 3rd party plugins recently?

    May be try disabling plugins one by one.

    Hi,

    I solved this by creating a new admin user in functions.php through ftp. The original admin user had no role for some reason. I have no idea why this happened.
    I did disable all plugins, upload fresh files for WP core before that but it did not change anything. I had not touched anything for a week and it only happened when I was automatically logged out and then I could not login again.

    Luckily everything seems normal now! ??
