• I’m not positive that I’m using 3.2, but I think it is. I can’t get in there to check. I haven’t accessed my blog’s admin page for about a month. When I tried to go back into it yesterday (after entering my name and password) I get the following message followed by a blank screen:

    vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl vti_timelastmodified:TR|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_extenderversion:SR|5.0.2.4803 vti_cacheddtm:TX|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_filesize:IR|81093 vti_backlinkinfo:VX| vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl vti_timelastmodified:TR|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_extenderversion:SR|5.0.2.4803 vti_cacheddtm:TX|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_filesize:IR|7168 vti_backlinkinfo:VX|

This also shows up on the top when I just go to my blog’s page, but the rest of it will usually load. To see for yourself, visit https://www.midwestapologetics.org/blog

Can someone please let me know what is going on and how I can fix this? Also, please use non-techie language since it will likely go right over my head if you don’t.

    Thank you!

    Thank you for posting those.
I use Expression Web, but the site was originally built with Frontpage.

I deleted the _vti_cnf folder, but I cannot even login into WordPress at all. I’ve tried deleting cookies and browsing history so that it wasn’t using old data. I’ve shut down the computer and restarted the browser. However, whenever I try going to the admin page, I just get the same junk at the top of the screen:

    vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl vti_timelastmodified:TR|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_extenderversion:SR|5.0.2.4803 vti_cacheddtm:TX|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_filesize:IR|81093 vti_backlinkinfo:VX| vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl vti_timelastmodified:TR|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_extenderversion:SR|5.0.2.4803 vti_cacheddtm:TX|02 Aug 2011 23:02:43 -0000 vti_filesize:IR|7168 vti_backlinkinfo:VX|

That is the only thing on the screen and it still appears at the top of my blog. I noticed that Expression Web rebuilt the folder after I deleted it. So I deleted it again and it is currently not on the site (but I’m sure it will be the next time I publish anything with Expression Web). Please help.

    Thanks.

This happened to me this week after opening the site live in MS Expressions 4 and asking it to verify backlinks. Didn’t save anything but it added the _vti_cnf folder to every folder. Deleted a number of them before I found the right one. It was in one of the folders relating to Themes. Once I deleted the correct one, the site started working like normal.

I learned my lesson. I was up until 2:00 am on a Sunday night trying to fix it!

    Good luck.
