• Hi Guys,

Yesterday I upgraded WordPress manually from 2.7.1 to 2.8. Once upgraded it told me that I had to update my database which I clikced to do automatically. Then it sent me to the login screen and I inputted both my ADMIN details and then subsequently my secondary details from the account that I post more regularly with. Neither of these worked and it kept returning me to the login screen.

I have searched for a solution but most people seem to be ok once they have cleared their cookies. I have done this but it does nothing and I still can’t login :s. I don’t host the database locally so i’m not sure how i’d go about resetting the password.

Any help would be great because i’m stuck!?

P.S The Forgotten password feature doesn’t work it just says that the user may have turned off the ‘sendmail’ function!

yes well since you are the host — that’s probably the case. Its too much (of everything, learning, working, time, etc..) for most people to learn how to run a web server properly before installing wordpress. its called running before walking. >:<

locally on what? a windows machine? a nix machine? a wii? what?

or try my emergency password script — rumor has it it works just fine for 2.8.1

I meant *I* don’t host the database, my web host hosts the database.

Thankyou anyway as your script worked brilliantly.
