• Heya Folks,
I am not a newbie, but not technical at all. I tell you what happend to me. I did build with WP a website over 50 pages. Not for blogs etc. but just to give extending info about the place where we live. Yes, a static
site with just a small place for remarks. Its https://www.dekollenberg.nl
I last made a backup 2012-12-09. After te backup I decided to upgrade
WP to 3.5 etc and that worked perfect. After that I did not change or
    try anything at the site.
This morning the server crashed. I did get that message from the administrator of the host. I still could get inside als admin, but there
where some strange things: all the html was blanc just as the indexes, and the layout was affected: just look for yourself. So I did restore all with the backup but the result is negativ: I cant get in anymore as admin: it gives this message: Fatal Error: Call to indefined wpdb::get_charset_collate()in …… wp-admin/includes/schema.php line 20. As visitor you still can see the site….but….messed up.
Could anyone please help me out here??
    Thanks for your attention.
    Leo aka LeikeLb

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Twelve theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
