    Today I changed the dashboard login address and now I can’t login.

    How do I fix this? I don’t know why it isn’t working and I really need to get into my dashboard as the admin.

    I did this to make my site more secure but besides not having admin access another user (author) can’t login either.

    Is anyone else having this problem? Is it because of the update from WordPress?

    @battrie

    It’s unclear from your problem description whether you are unable to access the WP Dashboard login screen or whether you are unable to login from the WP Dashboard login screen after entering your username\password.

    Anyway the iTSec plugin Hide Backend feature is working fine in WP 4.4.2 so there must be something wrong in your env.

    Provide us with the website URL and we can take a quick look at it.

    Thanks for getting back to me. I managed to disable iThemes.

    Let me know what you find out.

    @battrie

    It seems the WP Dashboard login screen can be accessed using one of the 5 default WP login URLs. The other 4 result in a 404.

    That is weird since you have enabled the iTSec plugin Hide Backend feature. None of the 5 default WP login URLs should work.
    Only the secret WP Dashboard slug as specified in the Hide Backend feature should allow you to access the WP Dashboard login screen.

    Apart from that you still haven’t clarified what exact login issue you are having …

    There may be a conflict with another plugin.
    Are you using any other security plugin ?

    I have great news! I figured out what the problem was. It turned out that I had an plugin called Rename wp-login.php. I deactivated it and now everything works.

    I am having the same issue. I have been running iTSec just fine after updating 4 days ago. I was doing some security maintenance (checking 404s, creating some redirects, looking into suspicious IPs) – then right in the middle of working, I got kicked to homepage. Then I couldn’t get back to admin at all.

    Went to FTP, renamed iTSec folder, can get in just fine. I use Hide Backend, so I tried removing that part of the code in htaccess, changed plugin folder back to normal. No go. Rewound to where I was.

    I was working between iTSec and Redirection plugins (which, it doesn’t have any redirects for admin), so I tried changing plugin folder name for Redirection. No go. Rewind.

    It seems to be isolated to iTSec :/ I was looking into why Google was getting so many errors, thinking I had banned a googlebot IP address, I was researching that when it kicked me out…

    WP 4.4.2
    iTSec 5.2.1
    Host GoDaddy
    Plugins – Duplicator, Redirection, Securi, Updraft Plus, Yoast SEO
