i need some help logging into our website –
we had a company create it about 4 years ago but i need to make some changes and i cant login
i get this error at/wp-admin page
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

that’s strange since your site still displays. that means that wp-config.php has the correct database login info.

you should contact the company that built the site to see if there is some trick to logging in.

Have you EVER logged in since it was built?

they might have put some kind of redirect on the admin part of WordPress to prevent hackers.

they might have put some kind of redirect on the admin part of WordPress to prevent hackers.

That or some security plugin that’s hidden the login.

Please post your .htaccess file. Maybe there’s a clue there.

Do you have access to your website host? If so, you can log in there and possible view the plugins in /wp-content/plugins.

You could deactivate all plugins if you have web host access.

Here is an article explaining how to do it:
