• I just installed WordPress (5 minute install), but I can’t login to the admin dashboard. I use “admin” as the username and the password generated by WP, but the login screen just sits there. The blog is up, but I can’t manage it. Also, when I requested a new password, nothing was emailed. Help please

  • could we get a link?

I had similar problem. Check if you are getting “Can not login to example.com” where example.com is your domain name. This is because your hosting service provider requires you to login to your site for using www space. I have tried different things and, finally copied all /wordpress directory to my hard drive, deleted it from the www and created a wordpress directory using FTP and copied all back. I have no idea how this could help, but all logins are working now.

I cannot login to my admin dashboard, because I lost the password. Am I out of luck?

I’m having a similar problem with my log-in. I have requested that a new password be sent like six times, and after it says “an e-mail has been sent to the admin’s e-mail address,” it sends nothing!

How do I get around that?

    My blog is:

Can you access your database directly through PHPAdmin and change your password directly in your database?

I also have the problem of logging in.

I was able to create wp and log into the admin panel the first time. I changed the password and apparently mistyped it was I have not been able to get back in.

I have requested a new password several times and received one each time. Howver none of them work. I get the error message that it is an invalid password.

I went into PHPAdmin and changed the password, same error message. I went back and tried changing username and password, same error message for the new username.

I removed everything, including the database and set up everything again. Same problem, can not get back into admin panel.

Any suggestions? Or advice on how I can remove everything and set it up again so it works?

have you tried using different browsers to login?

I was able to change it. I used my old computer, which had a cookie set, to log-in and changed my password there. Success!

But it’s still a mystery why it never sent those e-mails. Now, I need to figure out how to delete a blog I accidentally created at WordPress!
