Can’t login

  • Get through the installation and all the way to the Second Step.

    I get –

    Username
    admin
    Password
    xxxxxx
    Login address
    wp-login.php

    and when I click on the wp-login.php link I am taken to the login page, however when I enter my Username and Password I receive an error –

    Not Found
    The requested URL /wordpress/wp-login.php was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    ————————
    The folder that WordPress is in is weblog, so the install step 2 should be taking me to weblog/wp-login

  • I’m taking a shot in the dark here, but it sounds like ‘siteurl’ in your options table wasn’t updated properly to reflect the path you use. You may want to check the DB and try again. I think… ;p

    Hi. I had this problem too. I followed the directions found at:

    Look under the section titled “Site URL Redirecting.

    Following these instructions, the problem was easily fixed. My URL had a /wordpress at the end and I just deleted that in two sections of my database and it works great now. Let me know if you need more help than this.
