    Hello,

I would like to have an experimental website, where I can test a new theme.

So, to do this, I just uploaded all the FTP files from “mysite.com” to a new folder, linked to a new sub-domain : “preprod.mysite.com”.

I created a new path in my host too.

Then, I imported the database to the new domain.

The blog now appears in preprod.mysite.com, BUT when I try to log in preprod.mysite.com/wp-admin, it always lead me to the admin panel of my original site : mysite.com.

How can I log into the admin panel of “preprod.mysite.com”?

    Thanks ! ??

  • The new installation still has info of the initial installation. You’d have to open phpMyAdmin, click on your database to expand it, go to wp_options table and change the home and site URL to preprod.mysite.com

After that you should be able to login to the test site. Once you login, install “better search replace” plugin and use it to replace all instances of “mysite.com” with “preprod.mysite.com”.

Let me know if that works or not so we can explore other options.
