Can’t log into my site.

  • Hi, I’m having trouble logging into my site. I use worpress with comicpress theme and it doesn’t seem to recognize my login information, and when I try to send a recovery email to reset my password, I don’t receive one. I’ve checked my spam folder in my email just in case it was sent there, but it’s not there either. I’m not sure what steps I should take to log into my wordpress site’s dashboard so if you have any other suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks

  • You can also reset the password from the database (using something like PHPMyAdmin), your theme’s functions.php file, or the emergency password reset script. See this Codex page:

    Hey having similar problems today for the first time I go to login and it will not work and when I go to reset I get this message The email could not be sent.
    Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function. Can not get passwords from the phpmyadmin to work either. Any suugestions

    When you try to login do you see any errors? Does the page just refresh?

    Hello. Some mails are not supported by wordpress for security reasons. You should try to change your mail by an other as outlook for exemple. It could be a problem with the platform.

    @chrisegg the page just refresh, and I don’t receive an email, and it’s not in my spam folder or anything either.

    @alecfritz do you try to login in by going to /wp-admin or /wp-login.php

    Sometimes this is a redirect issue. The non www. redirecting to www. when the page redirects to the wp-login.php from wp-admin
