• For whatever reason I can’t log into my own wordpress website. I have tried via the login box via my site as well as wp-login. The username and password are the same and haven’t been changed and I’ve never had this problem before. I can’t even log in as one of the users I’ve recently created for the site.

I can’t think what has caused this so would appreciate any help that can be provided. Thanks!

Just to add to this…I even tried to reset my password via wp-login and it said “ERROR: Invalid username or e-mail.”

I have not changed my username, it remains the same as it always has.

Can you get access to the database via the hosting control panel?

Hello there, thanks for the response.

Yes I can access the database. So would that suggest it’s a wordpress problem rather than my hosts problem? I’m no pro with this sort of thing. What should I do next?

    Thanks in advance!

No. The password and user name should not be the same for the db and wp. But with access to the database you can check/change the email address for your user name or change the password.

Okay that’s fair enough. Though I must say that confuses me as both the access to the site and access to the database have both worked since they were set up 2 months ago…it seems strange the site login would stop at random today!

If you change the password make sure you select md5 as well then save it. This will encrypt the password.
