• Please for the past 4 hours our, i’ve been battling with this problem and i need urgent help.

When i try to log in to my blog, the message comes up
‘ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.’

I have emptied my cache and cookies yet it persists. And cookies are enabled on my browser. It is the same on Google Chrome and Opera browsers.
Some suggestion online said i should rename my plugin folder through FTP, but it still didn’t work when i renamed it.

Please can someone help with a real solution. I just installed the latest version of WordPress.

It may be a problem with your plugins or theme.

    Start with something easy.

    1. Using FTP or whatever file management tools your host has provided you with navigate to the wp-content directory.
    2. Once there locate and rename (do not delete!) the plugins directory. Just that one directory and nothing else.
    3. Try and re-login to your WordPress dashboard.

Let us know here if that let’s you in.

I don’t know but do you feel like trying something?

Rename your plugins directory back to normal and reactivate your plugins one at a time. Log out and log back in each time.

That’s tedious, I know but if it was a plugin then that will help find out which one it was.

I can do it, but i don’t really know how to reactivate the plugins one at a time. Sorry could you just help me with the information.

Once you are able to login, visit

    https://your-url-here/wp-admin/plugins.php

and you should see a list of your plugins.

Use your mouse and you can select and activate your plugins one at a time on that page.
