• Hello there

I’ve installed a plugin to get embedded youtube videos to scale. First I got an error message and now I can’t log on anymore. Instead of the log-in screen I get the following error messages:

Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cookie – headers already sent by (output started at /kunden/426281_8001/web/3073625/A3073625/twoyearsplus.ch/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/responsive-video-ultimate/inc/enable_shortcode_widgets.php:2) in /kunden/426281_8001/web/3073625/A3073625/twoyearsplus.ch/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wp-power-stats/wp-power-stats.php on line 172

I’ve tried to delete the plugin but since I can’t log-on anymore that’s a hard thing to do. I also tried to delete it through FTP on my hosts webpage and through a autonomous ftp-client (FileZilla). Both don’t work. With FileZilla I get the response that the password is correct but authentication failed “Critical error: Could not connect to server”.

Does anyone have a solution or at least a hint to this?

You’re on the right track – you do need to use FTP to remove that plugin – ask your hosting company for help with getting the FTP connection to work correctly – as that’s their territory.

Ok. I’ve contacted the hosting company. Hope they can help me. Thanks.

The hosting company could help me. I turned out that I needed to temporarily deselect a safeguard against cookies in my browser (Safari 8.0) to access the content through their website. That feature interfered with the login through FTP.
After that, I could locate the plugin-folder, delete it (made a backup first, of course) and that did the trick. The problem has been solved.

Additionally, the plugin changed the code for all my embedded youtube videos so that they scale properly on mobile devices now. Therefore I can use that code to scale all my future embedded videos with the same code without the plugin ??

    Thanks and goodbye.
