can’t log in

  • All of a sudden I can’t log in to one of my blogs. This has happened on and off over a few days to both my blogs. At one point, I couldn’t even view them, but I can now. I’ve looked at the Login Trouble instructions, but many of the things to try are beyond me. Cookies are enabled. I deleted the wp-login.php file and downloaded a new one. The instructions said to edit the new one, but the text was already the way it was supposed to be changed. I haven’t changed any plugins or made any other changes.
    I’m using 2.8.4 (and afraid to upgrade)
    I’m not sure of the versions of SQL or PHP, but everything was running fine until a few days ago.
    I’m using Windows Vista & Firefox 3.6.3

    Yes, that’s the article I mentioned in my first post. I did some of the steps, the ones I could do. Although I didn’t delete the plugins. I didn’t do that because I haven’t changed any of them and would like to avoid doing that. I have the following folders in the plugin folder:
    aksimet
    social-media-page
    tweetmeme
    ultimate-google-analytics
    wicket-twitter-widget

    Perhaps you know if one of them is likely to cause this, even though it hasn’t before.

    its a sort of simple minded question but did you try to reset the password?
