can’t log in

I am ready to scratch my eyes out. Someone please help! And fast!

I have spent all day just getting wordpress installed on my site. I have it installed on my hosting site thru go daddy. The default blue banner page comes up no problem. Then I installed it locally on the MacBook Pro using MAMP. I would be embarrassed to admit how long that took. When I finally got to that page, I thought I was victorious. But then…

I got to the login page. Username ??????? Password: ???????????

I have tried every permutation imaginable. Are they the same? I’ve tried the hosting name and password, root, admin..

PLEASE SAVE ME FROM THIS HELL. I’ve tried all the steps in the troubleshooting. It won’t email me anything after I select “forgot password” and enter my email. I’ve tried to decipher MyAdminPHP.

I’m at my wit’s end. please help.
