    Hi!
I installed rename login but got an 404 error and could not login to the dashboard.
So I deleted the folder with ftp because I read in the support forum.
Now I can access to the login page again, but after the login I don′t get to the dashboard. I just got redirected to the home page.
I think the problem lies in redirecting rules within the htaccess.
But I can′t find any solution.
Do you have an idea how I can get back access to my blog?
BTW: Additional I have installed the following login-plugins:
    – limit-login-attempts
    -s8-custom-login-and-registration
The url is https://www.dialogpur.com/wp-admin/ ( I will delete it after your answer)

    Thanks & best regards
    Mike

First I want you to know that this plugin doesn’t use htaccess and that deactivating it will bring everything back to the original state. So the problem lies somewhere else.

Maybe you have some redirects set up for the dashboard. You could try to login in first, and let it redirect, and then try to access wp-admin/edit.php for example.

I’ll take a look at that second plugin and your website and I’ll get back to you.

Your wp-admin redirects to your login page, which is renamed /login/, but you don’t have Rename wp-login.php installed, and even if you did, it doesn’t redirect wp-admin to the login page because that would reveal it. How is your login page renamed then?

So you probably created a page called ‘login’ and set up redirects to that page. You should remove those before installing this plugin.

I got back to the dashboard!
Finally I deleted all plugins with ftp access, which got to do with login and it worked again.
At the end of the day this have been the following plugins:
    – bulletproof-security
    – limit-login-attempts
    – rename-wp-login
    – wp-login-security-2
    – s8-custom-l…egistration

Another question: How do I delete the URL in the initial post in this forum?
Can′t find a way do edit posts here.

    Thanks for your help!

So does that mean Rename wp-login.php is working now for you?

Unfortunately you can only edit your posts up to one hour after it’s posted… :/
Plugin authors usually get an email though, so next time just remove it immediately, because they will have received an email with original post.
