I’m trying to remove a flash banner located on a secondary page of a website I just took over; however, the script used to call it isn’t accessible in appearances>widgets.

Any ideas where I should look to find the script I need to remove?

Source code to call the banner is <script src=”https://h1.flashvortex.com/display.php?id=2_1332928041_971_624_0_249_184_9_1_124&#8243; type=”text/javascript”></script>

Where (in what type of file) might this be found, and how can I remove it?

I’ve looked through literally all of my .php files, widgets and plugins with no luck. Is it possible that I’m only viewing widgets for the front page, but not all widgets?

    Imperfect guesses are welcome!

jaylad, what Timothy is trying to point out is that when you have more than 10 or 15 lines of code, it’s way better to use pastebin or a gist to store the code. People can edit and leave changes in nicer ways too ??

Also if you DO use our code tagger, the backtick has to be the first character on the line, no spaces in front

    ` won’t work

    this works

I couldn’t see anything in that file either. I would start combing through those machform php files, it seems to be the only place, I could be mistaken of course :). But that is where I would start.

Alternatively, if you download a copy of your wp install, you could search across all of the wordpress content for a phrase in the flash code.

I just thought to look up appnitro, which I learned generates and hosts the form. They also provide the option of adding content to the top/header of forms via their account options. So. the form was hosted and located on machform/appnitro’s website. (see: edit form)

So… it all came down to sloppy troubleshooting on my end, as I started on step 3 rather than step 1—properly exploring content surrounding the script. ? I’m too used to widgets, etc…. but Sheldon Cooper would be horrified.
