• I set up wordpress on a localhost using WAMP. I am able to do everything on the isntructions and am able to view my webpage properly on the computer where it is hosted. But when someone else on the Local Area Network tried to access my page, They only see plain text. No images just a black and white text with occasional blue letters for the links.
Do i need to set something up first since this is just a locally hosted wordpress with no access from outside the local area network?

  • dont use localhost or 127.0.0.1 in the urls,

those are relative to the machine being used to browse. Use a fully qualified domain name or a routable IP.

I only use localhost when I use the PC hosting the site. but when others in the network tries to visit my site, they use my IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.101

dont use localhost or 127.0.0.1 in the url settings when you install

Exact same thing happened to me, I looked around, MySQL, through the php myAdmin panel (XAMPP apache instalation) and changed the the table wp_options under the wordpress database (I named my database “wordpress”)changed the URL field, and wrote the public URL adress, well, do you know what it works!, now I can see the theme properly displayed, but the links are still not working. that I haven’t being able to resolve yet.
