• I can’t install new themes, and I seriously do not get what the problem is. Specifically, I’d very much like to use the 2010 Weaver. When I try to install that it quits after a while, because it says it can’t install some particular file.

When I try to install some other randomly chosen theme, it says
“Can’t create directory /mydomain.com” (mydomain.com just me masking a little)
I honestly don’t understand what the problem is, and I certainly don’t get why the system would even try to create such a directory. So yea, if anyone has any thoughts on this I’d be very grateful!

Uh… I just did a last try, before posting this. Now it says
    “Couldn’t create the catalogue. /mydomain.com
Despite the fact that it quite clearly created a catalogue before. Yep, I removed that using the FTP inbetween tries. Um. Help?

I’ve had this issue for some time. Finally, I went for the extreme and just deleted every single file (yea… auto update didn’t work either) and threw up the wp 3.0.4. Still exactly the same issue.

Whoops, noticed I was a little sloppy in the translation – both of those error messages pertaining to a catalogue/directory was the same error message.

I’ll chance doing a bump and hope it won’t upset anyone. Just a few thoughts on were to start looking for the error would be great! Should I ask my host? Look in the code somewhere? Maybe there’s some other forum where it might be a good idea to throw out the question?

By the by, I’ve already tried changing the permissions for the Content folder; even set it all to 777. No luck.

    Thanks for the input!

Though I see now I was a little unclear in my post; I do know how to do manual installs and upgrades. What kills me is that I don’t get why the auto function suddenly dropped dead. I mean, it’s not like I couldn’t use it a few weeks ago. Heck, I even used it for another site with the same host just yesterday.
