• trying to install on cpanel root directory but keep getting message that says must create a “directory” to install too…

I’m doing this from a control panel…any advice? I thought I had the current cpanel update and can’t understand why my WP version is 1.5.2

    Thanks.

  • If cPanel is your control panel, then typically, the main domain uses the public_html folder as the root folder.

If you are referring to the Fantastico provided WordPress install not showing the current WordPress version, then you might want to discuss with your host.

Also, know that you can use the procedures describe in Upgrading WordPress Extended to upgrade.

Please before doing anything, follow the instructions in WordPress Backups to backup your database and files.
