Hi there, I tried installing the nextgen gallery tonight to no avail. I’ve tried disabling all plugins referecing Nextgen and reinstalling from FTP. I also tried using the auto-installer via Nextgen. No luck.

Any thoughts? Nextgen appears to be there but the I cannot create new galleries or manage the plugin. I think either the installation did not complete or there is a permissions issue.

See the screenshot below. You can see that there are many options in the GALLERY section that are missing.

PS I tried visiting what I believe to be the url structure to add a new gallery. It stated: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

  • Follow these steps:

    1. Uninstall it from the Reset / Uninstall option available under Gallery option.

    2. Delete plugin from Plugins page. (Noge: to delete it, you need to deactivate it first.)

    3. Now install it directly from Plugins page (i.g. instead of uploading .zip file search for that plugin and istall it.).

    Hey there,

I did exactly what you said. Still having the same issue. ?? Not sure what to do. Does nextgen work with 3.5.1?

I would also like to add that I believe a much older version of Nextgen was installed on this system before.

What should I do? Should I delete it and the tables manually? I’m so uncertain as to where the installation is failing because i’m not seeing any errors.

The only indicator is the permissions denial I get when I try manually visit a known Nextgen management URL.

I have Nextgen on my other sites but they are all earlier versions of wordpress

Figured out the problem. The plugin Advanced Access Manager is incompatible. It will keep admins from seeing all of the managing URLs. Since wordpress includes a role editor now I don’t need to use it anymore.

May want to make a note of this if you guys keep a list.
