Can’t install latest version of WordPress

  • I’ve tried installing the latest version of WordPress and it keeps saying the same thing Warning: copy(C:/Users/panda/OneDrive/Documents/Websites/www.example.dev/license.txt): failed to open stream: Permission denied in C:\Users\panda\OneDrive\Documents\Websites\www.example.dev\wp-admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 257 I don’t understand why it is saying this or how to fix it, any help would be appreciated ??

    Ive read through all that, I still have no idea why I can’t update wordpress, that seems to be for the initial installation, I have wordpress but I can’t update it to the latest version

    If you are trying to update, then try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Please read the Manual Update directions first.

    Download a fresh copy and try it again. It’s not a major issue. Delete the old Wp-admin folder and Wo-content/directory.

    Checking to ensure that you and your web host have the minimum requirements to run WordPress.
    Downloading the most current version of WordPress.
    Unzipping the downloaded file to a folder on your hard drive.
    Creating a secure password for your Secret Key
    Keeping this webpage open so you have it handy during the installation.
