• Hello. I am trying to install Google Webmasters on my site and can’t do it. The line I was told to copy and paste is:

    <meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”br_YWCEeQ_R_hQlXIOr-si6bhb9i180_xhy0wMPry84″ />

    I was instructed to insert the above line into my header (header.php) and index (index.php) files. Both times, I got a message from Google saying it was unable to verify my website.

    I’m new to this and I hope someone here can help me. If it makes any difference, I’m using a Mac and I have my site’s URL redirecting any traffic to an “under construction” page. Thanks!

    If you have your site redirecting all traffic to an “under construction” page, Google won’t be able to verify your site since it will be redirected to an “under construction” page too.

    You may want to use another verification method.
    I almost always use “upload an HTML file” option; that should work for you too.
