    Can upload media but can’t insert in posts. No error just doesn’t do anything.

    Thanks for keeping responsed extremely simplified as I am totally new.

    Please describe exactly what step you make when trying to insert an image into a post.

    First I upload the image in the Media Library. No problem there. Then I edit (quick edit is not working) the post and click on the “add an image” box under upload/insert. Nothing happens.

    I recently had lost entire blog and someone on this blog was graciously able to restore it for me. Since then the quick edit and insert images has not been working.

    Thanks!

    That could a clue.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    I have deactivated the plug ins but I will double check to make sure I got them all. I will try your second suggestion but have no idea how to do your third suggestion.

    Hi,

    Check with these options too:

    -> Assign 755 recursive permissions to wp-content directory.
    -> Add this code in htaccess of your blog/site:

    <IfModule mod_security.c>
    SecFilterEngine Off
    SecFilterScanPOST Off
    </IfModule>

    -> Reset the upload path from wordpress admin area.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    Hey! You da’man! I had missed 2 plug-ins and deactivating them resolved the problem! So that makes it easy figuring out which one it was.

    So when something like that is caused by a plug in, am I just not able to use that plug in?

    Pretty much, yes.

    With luck, it’s just a little out-of-date and the author might update it again soon – in which case, you could try a re-install.
