Can’t import the data

    Hi,

    I get the following message: Import Complete! Congrats, your demo was imported successfully. You can now begin editing your site, but I don’t see the imported pages. It occures either with predefined demo files and with the manual import.

    However, I see this in the logs:

    PHP Warning: Undefined array key "guid" in /../plugins/one-click-demo-import/vendor/awesomemotive/wp-content-importer-v2/src/WXRImporter.php on line 2421

    PHP Deprecated: htmlentities(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($string) of type string is deprecated in /../plugins/one-click-demo-import/vendor/awesomemotive/wp-content-importer-v2/src/WXRImporter.php on line 2425

    Could this have anything to do with it?

    If I try to import my xml file via the default WP importer, everything works fine.

    Hi @gyurmey,

    could you please open your XML file in a web browser and see if it opens OK? If there is an XML issue, the file will fail to open in the browser and will usually display an error at the top.

    Let me know how it goes.

    Hey Marius,

    did you also test it on a different hosting or on a local WP site?

    It would be great if you could share the XML import file, so that we can test it out on our end. This is a public forum, so please be careful with what you share. The XML file should not contain any personal information. You can also edit the XML file and remove any items that you don’t want to share. Before sharing it here, please retest it first.

    I am having the same issue. The demo importer says import complete, but only the header, footer and menus are imported.

    The rest of the home page seems empty. I have tried a different dashboard on the live server.

    I am trying to import 9 demos from my website. 3 homepages are imported correctly. One page imports xml properly and the other page doesn’t, only the header and footer is importer.

    Is there any way we can access the log of demo importing? That would help a lot. Is the any default wordpress way to debug this?

    Hi Arafat,

    if some pages are importing correctly, then it’s usually an issue with the other pages’ content,, which causes a problem and is not importing correctly.

    Also, make sure you have all required plugins installed, maybe the missing content is due to some blocks/shortcodes not being available?

    There is a general import log file, which is added to the WP Media page after each import, but it will not show details about sections inside a specific page.

    Thank you.

    I have checked the XML and found more than 60 characters which are not allowed. I have removed those characters and the demo importer works fine now.

    I think the problem is with the content, most often the XML files don’t cause any issues.
