Can’t import from LiveJournal; create directory error

  • I tried importing the XML from my LiveJournal and got this message:

    Unable to create directory [theparentdirectoryfrommywebsite]/wp-content/uploads/2007/09. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    As far as I know, it isn’t write protected. I tried creating that directory manually, but still got a failed error message saying it was unable to import. Is there a setting I need to adjust on my host?

    When I do manually create the directory, the error message I then get is:

    The uploaded file could not be moved to .

    What could this mean? What might be different about my account that’s preventing me from importing like most everyone else?
