• Today I can’t import previously exported forms into Caldera. I’ve re-exported them from an updated version of the plugin just in case it’s a compatibility problem between the old versions of the plugin, but this doesn’t help. I just get the “Form could not be imported. File type must be JSON.” error. The files validate fine as JSON using https://jsonlint.com/

Any ideas? This is on version 1.7.6

Even when creating a form by hand, exporting it and trying to reimport into the same site/install I get this error. Something broken in 1.7.6?

I have the same problem…. Can’t make it work either…

    Thanks Torsten.

This is still an issue in the plugin and a PITA if you look after lots of sites that need the same forms….

Thank you very much for the help Torsten, your solution worked for me with text/html.

It’s crazy that it’s been 5 months and not only is this not fixed, but the error messaging for this is still not helpful at all, in fact it leads you to believe there is definitely something wrong with the file.

Since the error message is part of Caldera, there is no need for it to be so obtuse, and it could definitely mention something about the MIME type configuration. I bet a lot of people just think importing is broken.
