    Hello:

I’m trying to connect this form to my Mailchimp list.

    https://yourwealthexpert.com/compare-annuity-rates/

I’m using Contact Form 7 because we have to receive some client information but also at the same time we want to subscribe them to the newsletter.

I’ve connected everything and using the formatting from your instructions but we are not receiving the contacts into the Mailchimp List.

The contact form 7 sends the email correctly and then redirects to another page.

Here are some screenshots of my setting if you can see something that may be wrongly configured. I have disables the double opt in.

    Hello,

Can you please go to the “MailChimp for WP > Others” menu and let us know if any errors are listed there?

Also, if no errors are listed on above page, can you please disable the redirect after form submission and test again?

Please let us know the results.

mmmh.. I see the error log now.. wasn’t aware of that part.

I have the same error over again:

ERROR: Contact Form 7 > MailChimp API Error: Bad Request. Your merge fields were invalid.
    – NAME : Please enter a value

The default Mailchimp list starts with EMAIL, FNAME and LNAME. I’m not using FNAME AND LNAME

I created NAME or MERGE3 to capture the whole name And that is what I’m using for my Contact form 7. I’ve tried both settings…

[text* mc4wp-MERGE3 placeholder “Your Name” ]

[text* mc4wp-NAME placeholder “Your Name” ]

This field was added in Mailchimp after we connected the plugin with the API key. So I’ve thought of clicking the “Renew MailChimp” lists in case the plugin wasn’t aware of this change. Also deactivated and activated the plugin to see if this helped.

Haven’t turned off the form redirect yet as it seems the problem is with this field.

Any suggestion to make the plugin recognize the field…? am i missing some code?

    thanks

Strange, the code for the name field looks fine to me.

Are you on the latest version of both plugins?
Does it subscribe the email (without name) if you set the NAME field to not be required?

Just a shot in the dark, but could you generate a new API key and try with the new key?

If that doesn’t help, please send me an email via support at mc4wp.com referring to this thread.

    Hello.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
Hopefully this thread will help others.

This is what I did to make it work:

    – Created a new API KEY and connected it again to the plugin
    – In MailChimp I put the NAME field as NOT required ( but kept it required in Contact Form 7 as I do need it)
    – Used the [mc4wp-NAME] tag as [mc4wp-MERGE3] didn’t seem to work

Now in MailChimp I get this in my list:

    Email
First name ( it uses the first part of the name field)
Last name ( it uses the second part of the name field
Name: What I put in the name field in contact form 7.

    So it is working now.

    Thanks
