Can't import backup, permissions error.

  • I’m trying to import my backup into a new WP installation. It uploads the file then gives me the error..

    Unable to import
    Ensure that file permissions are correctly set-up – 775 or 777 to /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs/wp-content directory and all files and folders that it contains.

    I have set every folder/file including wp-content to 777, and tried importing and still receive this error.

  • I’m having to same error. I don’t see a solution online. Bought add-ins and tried everything mentioned above with no result. I’m set to 777 but this does not seem to be a solution. Any help please?

    I have downloaded the latest release and this sadly did not work either. Has anyone had any luck or found an alternative?

    Unfortunately GoDaddy does not allow changing permissions on wp-content to 777 recursively, and that the only option GoDaddy users have is to wait for the plugin updates since they also does not allow rolling back to other versions of our plugin – we are really sorry for the inconvenience.

    I am using Bitnami Cloud Hosting with Amazon services and having the same issues……..What’s your thoughts here?

    I am experiencing this “permission denied” issue on a site hosted on GoDaddy when trying to import a site demo content from Theme Developer “U-Design”. You mentioned that “GoDaddy does not allow changing permissions on wp-content to 777 recursively” however you can do this with an FTP client like Filezilla. I have tried recursively changing wp-content to 777 and 775. One thing I’m noticing is the wp-content/index.php is locked on the server (apparently by GoDaddy). Any suggestions for a workaround?
