Can't immediately log back in after log out…must refresh blank page.

  • Weird issue when I try to log out, then immediately log back in. I don’t have a redirect login/logout plugin and it is on a multisite environment.

    – Click “log out” (which takes me to wp-login.php)
    – Immediately fill out user/pass > click submit
    – blank page (page is still wp-login.php)
    – if I refresh the page and put in u/p again, it takes me to the dashboard, as it should.

    This is a weird and frustrating issue for me (aren’t they all :). Any ideas on where to check?

  • I had a similar issue once and it was a problem with SSL on the server. I think there were multiple problems, but one was I had to add an exception to port 443 for the SSL and to renew the certificate to make sure it was valid.

    Also test with all your plugins off.
