Can't highlight text in post editor

    My problem is that I can’t highlight any text in the Post editing box. So therefore I can’t format the text. My mouse/highlighting works fine everywhere else (in email or in MS Word). It is only in WP panel that I have a problem. Also, this was not a problem for the first several months I had my blog. The only thing I know I changed awhile back was that I switched from IE 8 to IE 9.

    It isn’t a plugin problem because another admin user (editor) is able to login under her user name and post normally. So that tells me that it has something to do with my computer. I’ve read that this highlighting problem can be caused by a Word add on, but then it normally affects everything…in word and surfing the web. And that isn’t hte case here: while typing this post, I am able to highlight text, but not in WP panel.

    Oh and just today, another problem surfaced. When I make a post (without formatting since I can’t), and I click ‘update’ all the text in the window disappears.

    I’m at a loss. Any ideas?

    One more thing, I just tried it on two other computers. On one of them I have the same problem. Both computers are running Windows 7 and IE 9.

    But I tried it on the 3rd computer which is running Windows Vista and IE 8, and I did not have the highlighting problem.

    Any suggestions other than getting rid of Windows 7? Perhaps there is an add on in Windows 7 that could be causing the problem? Or perhaps its an IE problem from when I switched from IE 8 to 9?

    Well, I fixed my own problem. I guess I posted here too soon. But hopefully this will help somebody else who might have the same issue. The culprit was IE 9!! I uninstalled it, going back to IE 8 and now I cant highlight text in the post editor!
