Can't get WordPress installed

  • I am trying to install WordPress but it doesn’t seem to be working. I used the Web Platform Installer but when the download was complete, there was no option to open in my browser.

    I had to move the wordpress files into my root directory. It installed it under My Documents. I tried launching the /wp-admin/install.php file using localhost but it will not load.

    I’m not sure what the problem is. Any help??

    I am running Windows 7.
