    Genesis theme, disabled other plugins.
Insert page only puts the title in, no page content is inserted.
    WordPress 4.9.5

Did you set the display to something other than title?

Genesis isn’t an open source theme, so I’m unable to test it.

Any chance you can add this Dropdown attribute support to WPBakery Page Builder next ver?

I’d welcome a pull request or coordination with the plugin author on an integration, but since it’s not open source I can’t test out the integration.

    They said

The plugin developer can contact us via our slack channel: https://slack.visualcomposer.io/ in-case he needs any help in integrating the plugin with the page builder.

Resurrecting this one, sorry about the delay. Any chance you can clarify what you’re asking for? I checked out the link, and can’t figure out what is needed.

As it stands, you can add an inserted page to a Visual Composer layout block by using the “WordPress Custom Widget” block and choosing “Insert Page.”

Is there another method that I’m missing?

In VC, you can see the element as “Insert Pages”
With full integration it could show “Insert Pages: <page>”

In the element, you type in Page & Display
With full integration Page would be a Dropdown of all pages (may be hard to load)
Display would be a Dropdown of all options (easy since it’s a fixed list)

Do you have a custom Insert Page VC element plugin? I don’t see that on my test install. AFAIK only “Shortcode” and “WordPress Custom Widget” were the ways to integrate with VC.

    Thread Starter funsail

    (@funsail)

You can add the custom element in DC since there is no support but the limit is just you have to type everything in like that but it’s better than adding a text element and then typing in the short code

    Plugin Author Paul Ryan

    (@figureone)

Why would you use a text element? Why not use “WordPress Custom Widget” and choose “Insert Page” as the widget? If you do that, all the fields are there for you to fill out, just like adding a normal WordPress widget.

That’s what I’m saying, you have no integration so people have to type things out instead of using a drop down . and you can’t see what the element contains in the preview instead you have to edit it to find out.

Got it. A dropdown for choosing which page to insert is problematic, because a site could have hundreds of pages/posts/custom post types, and it would be bad UI to put all that in a dropdown. That’s why there’s the search UI in the TinyMCE dialog interface. We’d need to build something like that for the widget interface (and then make sure it works when embedded in the VC interface), and that’s not on the roadmap right now. But we’ll leave this thread open, and may find some time in the future to add the feature. As always, we would welcome any pull requests.
