Can't get subdirectory to point to root!

Hi I made a new WP site in a subdirectory of of my domain because I don’t want to mix it up with all of my other files and folders.

I know it is possible to have a sub point to the domain and I have tried doing what is says here several times and it never works. how do I do this? Thanks
