Can't get slider to work?

I can’t get the homepage slider to work at all. I went to theme options and then to slider options but after I uploaded an image and chose a slider (carousel) the default slider that had been on my page disappeared and nothing new shows up. There’s no slider at all. How do I get the slider to show up. There has to be a simple solution, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
