Can't get slider to work?

I can’t get the slider in the virue theme to work at all. I go to theme options and then select slider options. I added 1 image and a type of slider (carousel). Then I saved settings. My homepage doesn’t display a slider at all though. It was displaying the slider with the stock images that came with the theme, but now there is nothing. What am I doing wrong, there’s got to be a simple solution. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
