Can't get old domain off

Your best bet is probably to install a new copy of WordPress on your new host. You can copy all your old stuff from your old blog by going to Tools > Export on your old WordPress and then Tools > Import on your new install.

i did that and it still links it to the old page

You’ll need to update the links in the database. WordPress uses all hard-coded URL’s pretty much everywhere, so unfortuantely it’s a lot harder then just changing the URL.

If you follow the instructions for that you’ll get the site running on the right URL pretty easily.
