When I alter the setting under “Reading” to a number other than 10, it doesn’t actually change the front page. It shows 10 and only 10 posts on the sidebar.

    What did I break? ??

That setting controls the number of posts that show in your main content area…you probably have a widget or plugin that controls the sidebar.

I’m not sure I understand. Under the “Reading” panel I have these two options: “Blog pages show at most” and “Syndication feeds show the most recent.”

The “blog pages” responds to changes, showing more or less blog posts. Isn’t the “syndication” one what controls the posts shown under “recent posts” on the sidebar?

I don’t have any widgets being used, as far as I know, and the only plugin I have is something called “Akismet” which I think is a spam filter.

    What am I missing?

Never mind. I got it. It seems that I had to go to “widget” under the Appearance section. The other function under “reading” simply doesn’t work. [shrug].

Thanks for your help, figaro. ??
