Can’t get line breaks to show up

I have a site at https://www.vernonplaza.com and I can’t for the life of me get line breaks to appear. I add the br and p codes and they just disappear.

A little background… I am a professional web programmer, so I do know basic to advanced HTML. I do have disable autopop installed. I have tried editting through the WSYWYG and the code options. I have used WordPress several times before.

I am building this site for someone who is not web savvy, so I would prefer to get this to work through the WSYWYG. However, I am willing to teach him basic html if it isn’t an option. (Though it seems like the tool should be available both ways.)

I am stumped as to what the problem is. If I can’t get WordPress to work, then I am going to have to look for some different options and I would rather not do so as my client prefers WordPress. I’ve never had this problem with any other WordPress site that I have built.

Is it something with the theme that could be doing it?
